We crossed the border on Saturday night without incident and continued through Thunder Bay to stop and sleep in Sleeping Giant Provincial Park here in Ontario. We awoke to a beautiful, wooded, sunny, scenery which helped keep our mind off of how cold it was (40 degrees for a high). We had already decided to go camping in the Park for the next day hopefully being able to hike in and see what we could. So when we found out we could bike in to a campsite we were all for it and after a half hour of packing and situating our gear we started down the trail. Right away we realized that the ride was going to be a little more intense then we had originally suspected and as we chattered our way picking and choosing our path through the rocky trail we wondered how long 6km actually felt like. It turned out not to be a bad ride albeit a few interesting sections but it was worth it when we got to our site. A short path led us to a gorgeous rocky shoreline looking out at Lake Superior and Isle Royale. The water was a wonderful turquoise hue only interrupted by the white-caps raging across the surface forged on by the horrendous winds which have been chasing us since Grand Marais.
