After mid-day coffee we took a hike around what is known as Artist's Point in Grand Marais and the wind was whipping across the lake crashing the waves into the rocky shoreline protecting the harbor. It was incredible out there on the peninsula even with all the wind and rain, as soon as you were amongst the trees on the point it all disappeared and felt still and almost warm. The rooted trail back provoked our creativity and we began inventing a new dance move called the "Root Walk" which will surely take the hip-hop world by storm if we ever release it's moves to the public.
The rest of the afternoon was spent in a wonderful place called The Garage which is an old garage of sorts which has been turned into an antique/arts/coffee shop which doubles as a community space and artist meeting ground. There are a ton of board games and cool knick-knacks all around so it wasn't hard to keep the mind occupied. While Jena caught up on the world of the internet I was able to get a bunch of sewing all finished up.
What really held the day together was our inability to hold onto the knowledge of where we put things. First, it was Jena's hat which "mysteriously" appeared in her jacket's hood, then her phone happened to wander off into the dark abyss under the seat and a game of pin-point the sound of the vibrations ensued. Lastly was the loss of the curtains we had made the night before (we have since recovered them as well). We were able to finish off the night watching Love and Other Drugs before falling asleep on the shore of Lake Superior.
