After enjoying the sunset we walked on over to Sven and Ole's for some pizza and beer. It happened to be their trivia night so we spent a few hours trying to win some prizes. We were hoping for some free food, but Morgan almost won a patio table umbrella instead. The competitor in me wishes he would have won, but the minimalist I'm trying to be during this trip is happy that we don't have to find room for one more thing in the car.
Once trivia ended we decided we had spent enough money for the evening and hopped in the car to find our parking spot for the night. We chose to stay at the Ranger Station parking lot, protected by some trees from the view of passersby on Highway 61. We slept soundly while the wind continued to whip around us throughout the night.

Oct. 13th - Highway 61
Most of the drive from Duluth to Grand Marais was gloomy, rainy, and
windy yesterday, but we managed to stop and see a few waterfalls along
the way(Morgan has a bit of an obsession). Morgan was ready to do some
cliff diving at Illgin Falls and then I, along with the frigid gusts of wind,
quickly reminded him of how cold it was outside. When we arrived at
Grand Marais around 6pm we were welcomed by a beautiful sunset. Most of
the sky was filled with dark clouds and fog, but looking south towards
Duluth there was a small patch of pink and orange popping out between
the lake water and stormy clouds. Also, off the shore, there were a
couple of small sailboats which reminded us of our friends Jaxon and Caye.
