Huanchaco, Peru

On our 3 day extravaganza of busing from Aguas Calientes back to Guayaquil, Ecuador we had a day layover in Trujillo, Peru. So we decided to hop a taxi to the nearby surf town of Huanchaco. We stopped for a quick meal of seafood at one of the many restaurants lining the coast and then rented some surfboards and wetsuits. Thinking that we weren't going to need too much protection from cold water we opted for shorts/short sleeved wetsuits, but to our surprise the water was actually pretty frigid. Anyways, we had an awesome day 'surfing' the waves there, I say 'surfing' because we are no good and spent most of the time falling off of the boards instead of actually riding them.

The bus ride back into Trujillo was amusing that evening. We decided to catch one of the cheaper mini buses(more like a small van) back into the main square. This bus felt like it was going to fall apart every time the driver's assistant opened the door to let more passengers cram inside of the confined space. Just when we thought we couldn't fit one more person inside of the van, the driver would pull over to pick up another willing customer.
